To prolong an operating time of iPod's battery, it is necessary:

* to turn off or minimise operating time of illumination of the screen;

* to turn off equalizer which uses the player processor more intensively;

* to use key Hold to avoid casual pressing iPod's keys;

* to try to avoid frequent switchings between songs as it causes additional references to hard disk of the player consuming a considerable quantity of energy of the battery;

* to use the pressed down files of songs as the cache of iPod works with files is better, in the size less 9MB;

* to do not overcool your iPod;

* to do not overheat the battery it it is very harmful. By the way, do not recommend to hold iPod in a cover during charging - so it overheats more strongly;
