Recover Linux Files with Linux Data Recovery
Category: How to
One day you're chugging merrily along, and then you're staring at your Linux machine that won't boot -- a machine that just happens to contain everything of importance to you. While some degree of disaster is inevitable, it's how you cope with it that counts. Linux operating system basically works with Ext2, Ext3 and Reiser FS file systems and can undergo data loss instances with regard to many causes. I am a Linux user and thus don’t want any such mishappening with me.
Few days back, I got a chance to test one of the Linux recovery software called Stellar Phoenix Linux Data Recovery software. I had heard lots of plus points about the software and the test revealed the truth. Stellar Phoenix Linux Data Recovery is the read-only software and thus I suppose that it gives safe Linux data recovery. All the file systems are supported and the best part is that it works for all the flavors of Linux.
The company claims that the software is viable for all the data loss cases. But I think the harshest one is file system corruption and the one which can handle this situation properly would be the best Linux Recovery software in my view. On asking, they told me that the software retains a feature called ‘RAW Data Recovery’ which ends this job tactfully, without any reference to the file system and its entries.
This is how I gone through
The software is Windows based and thus is needed to be installed on Windows based system and the hard drive or any storage media, in question, is attached to it. The software, on launch, gives you some valuable tips for data recovery Linux.

The left pane of the window shows the listing of physical disks and the logical volumes, on which you can click accordingly to start the scanning procedure. For example if some volumes are missing or the file system is corrupted or the drive is having bad sectors, then you can click on the physical disk and start scanning it, through ‘Search Logical Drive’, ‘RAW Data Recovery’ or ‘Create Image File’ option, respectively.

On the other hand, for finding the lost files and folders, you can go to the targeted logical volume. Clicking on either of them will give you three options - ‘Standard Scan’, ‘Advance Scan’ (a better scanning method to get efficient results) and Create Image.
The recoverable files and folders are listed in the tree format, so the selective Linux recovery can be made. The File Filter and Append Header options are too valuable to recover files as per your according. You can save the scan results and use them at later phase for Linux data recovery.
Product Features:
• Restore lost / missing / deleted files and folders.
• Raw data recovery from inaccessible drives.
• File filter - to recover specific file type.
• Imaging drives to accelerate the recovery process.
• Facility to preview graphic files, MS Office files, Web documents etc.
• Well-designed and interactive user interface.
• Provide live update.
• Multi disk support – recover data from IDE, SATA and SCSI drives.
Demo and Full Version
Stellar offers the demo version of the software on its site and I suggest that that you should better download this prior to buy the software and see how powerful it is with respect to its functions and qualities. This gives you the view of the data, but is devoid of saving feature, which you get only after buying the serial key. You can buy this data recovery Linux software from here: http://www.data-recovery-linux.com/downloa...ry-software.php
Summary:
Very cool stuff for the money and pretty easy to use. This Linux recovery utility is the best option to go for, whenever you face any corruption issue in Linux OS. Literally, I got satisfied with all the results and features that the software provides. As per my point of view, the software is valuable and truly recovers the accidentally deleted files without any faults. . I found all the features of this software apt and sufficient for complete Linux recovery. The scanning procedure is good enough to get all the data recovered. I would rate this software 9/10
